Abstract: Food concerns national prosperity and the people’s wellbeing, food security is the important foundation of national security, and standards are effective means in ensuring food security.In view of the whole maize industry chain, the current status of maize industry standards were discussed in the various industrial segments, including harvesting, temporary storing, preprocessing, drying, storing, processing and consumption, to clarify the current situation and characters and the differentiated requirements in different segments.The selections and threshold values of maize quality indexes were analyzed.Moreover, based on the coherence of difference standards and the existing problems, the corresponding advices were approached, so as to provide theoretical basis for the improvement and development of the maize industrial standard system.
