Abstract: Structural design is one of the critical problems to underground silos, which is directly related to their safety, economy and applicability. By literatures, this paper summed up the current situation of studies on the structural design of underground silos in our country, and some new progresses on the structure design of underground silos. The developments of the structure design of underground silos were fully revealed after induction. Aiming at the present deficiencies existing in underground silos, a new kind of underground silo structure design scheme adopting prefabricated technology and composite structure technology was proposed for the first time. Finally, different structure forms of underground silos were compared, and their advantages and disadvantages were pointed out. Underground silo is an emerging research project in the food industry, which has important value on theory researches and engineering applications.
