Abstract:
The study aims to provide a reference and basis for investigating and developing the new grain fungicides that are green, safe and efficient. The inhibitory effects of eight green leaf volatiles (GLVs) on the growth of
Aspergillus flavus were determined by contact and fumigation bioassay.(
E)-2-hexenal,which was found to be the best antifungal activity among the eight green leaf volatiles, was investigated for the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC).The inhibitory effect of (
E)-2-hexenal against
Aspergillus flavus infection on maize seeds and its preventive and curative effects were further investigated by fumigation assay.(
E)-2-hexenal had a significant inhibitory effect on
Aspergillus flavus, and its fumigation bioassay was better than contact bioassay. The MIC and MFC of (
E)-2-hexenal were 0.01 and 0.02 μL/mL for fumigation,respectively.After 5 days'incubation,(
E)-2-hexenal at 0.05 μL/mL totally inhibited
Aspergillus flavus on infected maize seed and could protect and cure the infection of
Aspergillus flavus on maize by fumigation for 12 h.The results showed that (
E)-2-hexenal,as a natural botanical compound, can significantly inhibit the growth of
Aspergillus flavus in maize during the storage process.
